Geo-aware Content Storage and Back-up
Rest assured, all is safely in order. The storage of your critical data is done using Amazon Web Services, the leader in the field of elastic storage and computing. WeoGeo Library is specifically tailored to host a range of raster and vector-based file types that are widely used in the GIS and CAD space. You use our simple application, WeoApp, to prep your files for uploading. (WeoGeo’s use of a well defined XML file as a communication and metadata gathering tool enables the organizations to batch upload large library with minimal effort). WeoApp searches your files for Geographic metadata and automatically inserts that into the uploaded file. Where WeoApp cannot ascertain what a file might contain, the user simply adds additional important metadata, such as date, originator, project name, etc. The metadata requests are not onerous. Once uploaded, all the files are secured in your private account.
Fast Web-based Search and Discovery
No more long explorations to find a particular dataset. All of your raster and vector files can quickly be scanned real-time, based on geocoordinates, and presented to the searcher using your standard web browser and WeoGeo’s unique geo-centric interface. All your files that fall within the geographic area of your search are presented in an easy to parse table. Every entry displays a preview and basic metadata so that you can quickly refine your search. Searching for your geodata has never been easier.
Raster File Transformation and Customizations
Break the bits up. In many cases, your stored data may not be exactly what is needed. WeoGeo Library allows the user to perform a raster file transformation on the data to reformat it appropriate for the intended application. Or, the user can cut and crop out just what is needed preventing the unnecessary full-file download. This all saves time on your desktop machines from these often compute-intensive tasks.
Vector File Transformation and Customizations
Reset your vectors. Like raster files, WeoGeo will allow you to perform file transformations, cutting and cropping, and other modifications on the GIS and CAD industry’s major file types. This functionality will come via our exclusive arrangement with Safe Software and their time-tested utilities. This Vector customization will be coming in summer 2009. Like raster conversions, having WeoGeo do this in our elastic computing “cloud” will free your computing resources from the drudgery of these consumptive calculations.
Custom Branding of Library
Have your own private web site. Once signed up, you set your own unique web address using weogeo.com as your suffix. So the County Civil Engineers can be ‘ctycivileng.weogeo.com’, and Big City Architects can be ‘bigctyarch.weogeo.com’. You name it. You use it. Soon the customization will include the ability to add your own logo.
Access Customizations via APIs
Customize your WeoGeo. WeoGeo Library comes with a rich library of easy-to-use APIs. All you need is an API key to get started. Tweak the interface, add data types, build your own applications, create mash-ups or add-ons, all with content and APIs from your own WeoGeo Library.
Account Monitoring and Reporting
Keep tabs on what’s going on. View reports on transactions placed, transactions received, and listing history. If applicable, you can see any charges incurred and any payments received. These are all through WeoGeo Library's convenient web-based reporting tool. In addition, the tool lets you generate printer-friendly reports for your files.
Versioning and Genealogy Control
See things evolve. Keep track of version changes and derivative products of your data through a simple single-step process using WeoGeo Library's Relatives functionality. All versions and genealogy of your data are presented visually through the same geo-centric interface used to find data.
Unique User Access Privileges
When you start a WeoGeo Library, you are the Administrator, and you control access to your Library. You can control who gets in, and what they see. Once invited in, a user to your Library follows your rules.
Individual File Access Control
You set the rules. Only your organization, and those you authorize can view the stored content. You may set up files into groups and users into groups. A group may have as few as one file or one user. Content and users may be in multiple groups. You pair up the user groups to the file groups. The security arrangements are up to you.
File Upload and Download Service Option
Need assistance? If you’ve got a large pool of files, we can assist in loading these into your WeoGeo Library. Just ask. Often, we can program an automated tool, unique to you, so those thousands of files load right up with a breeze.
Library Appliance Upgrade Option
Not certain an off-site, elastic computing approach is best for your organization? All the benefits of our Library are available in our Library Appliance This server-like device resides inside your firewall along side your other computing resources. But as an appliance, there is virtually no IT maintenance required. Just set it up on your network, supply power, and go. You can lever your current NAS as needed. We’ll do the version and upgrading maintenance as time goes by. There are a number of payment plans available, from all up-front, to a twenty-four month arrangement.

Need more? We’ve packaged our plans to cover most of the smaller and medium sized organizations. But if you have large files, or a large number of files, and your staff is expansive, there’s no problem. Contact us to match up a plan best appropriate for your organization.

Free Market Account
Free is a very good price, especially when you can actually get back revenue by listing your content. Market is WeoGeo’s open exchange where content creators can list their geo-oriented data to other professionals for sale and download. In some cases, it provides the means to make available content for free or for a small transaction fee only. In other cases, the content has more substantial value. That’s all up to you, the listing account holder.
Your free access to list your Library content on the Market, at your choice, and in a pricing model you determine is our way to help you make the most of your workflow and business. Other geo professionals can search and discover this content in the same manner that your Library users would search in your private repository. The world is your market.
By establishing a Library account with WeoGeo, you also get a free Market account where you can seek out just the right Geo data that you need. The log in is the same as your Library account. While your private Library site may be something like ‘mylibrary.weogeo.com’, the open Market site you’d visit is ‘market.weogeo.com’, where you can search for products to help increase your production efficiency.
All payments and revenue receipts are transacted through a secure on-line, PCI-compliant, business system.
Unlimited Market Listings
You’re not limited. You can list up to 100% of your files to the Market’s customers. You control the pricing and the royalty payments for future products that are created from your high-value content.
Private Market Store Option
Go private. With Library’s top service plan, you can choose to have a private store set for you. That way your customers can get straight access to your data, bypassing all other market listings. Streamlining the sales process for your client base may be the way to go, especially if your current delivery process is cumbersome. In some cases, your governmentally-mandated data can be set to be available for no charge, a nominal fee, or even free. The option is yours.
